End of Year Enrichment BBQ
Students from East Surrey College had an end of year celebration like no other at their Leaver’s Barbecue on Wednesday 8 June 2022. Students from a wide range of courses came together to celebrate another successful academic year and cheer for the hard work from our Student Union and Enrichment & Wellbeing Team.
This was the last event organised by our 2021/22 Student Union Reps, Jhalak and Mo, which included a goodbye speech from Jhalak as well as awards for Enrichment Student of the Year.
Presenting the awards, Enrichment and Wellbeing Officer Harvey Kellard presented Business Level 2 student Gideon with his Enrichment Student of the Year award for going above and beyond in helping both staff and fellow students during enrichment activities. IT Level 3 student Castro won a runner-up award for his sense of humour and positive attitude towards all activities.

Gideon commented: “I’ve loved every minute of enrichment, taking part in activities and meeting new people along the way.”
In her speech, departing Student Union President Jhalak thanked the college and her fellow students for assisting her in her role over the past academic year, of which she said “It has been a pleasure to work alongside Mo and Harvey in coordinating events throughout the year. I have loved the experience and will be taking everything I’ve learnt with me. I wish each and every one of you the best of luck in your future endeavours!”
