ESC Success in the SEN Surrey FE Competition

Here at East Surrey College, SEN students from Brooklands, NESCOT, Activate Learning Guildford and East Surrey College took part in the SEN Surrey FE Competition.

For this competition, the teams were tasked to build something recycled/sustainable which was then to be presented to their class before it was presented to the judges from the Rotary Club on the 27 March.

Several groups from East Surrey College and John Ruskin College entered the competition and the finalists competed on Thursday 18 April at Brooklands College.

This was a fantastic experience for students, which tested our SEN Students presentation and creative skills. The creations included: Shrunken Crisp Packet Jewellery, Bird Boxes, a waste rubbish islands and a waste rubbish boat.

We are pleased to announce that East Surrey College was the overall winner for the competition. A big congratulations to the team, winning with their Shrunken Crisp Packet Jewelry. Additionally a big thanks to the LSK and SEN staff from ESC and JRC  who supported the competition.

The team is now working towards the SurreyFE Teaching and Learning Conference that is being hosted by ESC on 2nd July. For this event 50 teachers from each of the four colleges will be invited to attend.
