Students Work on a Live Client Brief!

Students Work on a Live Client Brief!

Date: 24 January 2020

Students across Reigate School of Art have been working on an exciting live brief for Include, a charity supporting people with communication difficulties. The charity also provides services to business, raising awareness of these difficulties and how they can meet different needs. As part of this, Include are putting together an educational package for healthcare professionals educating people on communication difficulties.

Reigate School of Art students have been putting the skills they're learning to use, to support Include with creative content for the package. This includes a series of interviews, an animation (created by a student studying Art & Design Level 4 Foundation) and sound recording.

As part of the ongoing project, Include Director Alix Lewer, visited the College on Thursday 23 January, with Include members and their support workers, to film short video clips. The clips featured the 5 principals of the Mental Capacity Act, and were filmed by students on Art & Design Level 1, with sound recording by students on Sound & Music Production Level 3.

Alix commented:

"We are so grateful to East Surrey College staff and students for sharing their considerable expertise to help us create film, animation and sound for a unique project. We hope it will help to reduce the discrimination and inequalities faced by people with understanding and speaking disabilities."

The students will then be working on the post-production, towards the final educational package, and we're looking forward to seeing the completed project!
