East Surrey College's Gold Medalist!

Date: 20 September 2018

East Surrey College are proud to have a gold medallist in the student body!

Luke Worgan, a Life Skills student, recently took part in the 2018 Special Olympics Anniversary Games in Scotland. Our keen cyclist came home with Gold in the 5K Road Race, Silver in the 10K Road Race and Bronze in the 5K Time Trial!

The event celebrated the 50th birthday of the Special Olympics global movement, and the 40th birthday of the Special Olympics GB, a charity providing sports training and opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Great Britain.

Luke is now looking forward to, and training for, the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi next year.

When asked about his passion for cycling, Luke commented:

“I started at a young age and really enjoy it! I love learning about bikes and useful things like fixing punctures.”

We are delighted to celebrate Luke’s cycling success and wish him all the best in Abu Dhabi next year!
