National Apprenticeship Week Day 1
Date: 08 February 2021
We’re so excited to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week! The theme of this week is ‘Build the Future' and each day, we’re going to be sharing some of our very own Apprentices’ stories and their experiences of how an Apprenticeship enhanced their career journeys!
NAW 2021 kicked off today with a visit from David White, Apprenticeship Development Lead at Gatwick Airport, who started out as an Apprentice himself! He spoke to our Engineering students about their 4 year Apprenticeship programme, on which students can reach HNC level. Our Engineering students then heard from Charlene Simms at Thales, who spoke about the range of Apprenticeships available and the different career opportunities at Thales!

Our first Apprenticeship Story for the week comes from Lucy, who is completing her Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship within our Client Services department. After finishing Sixth Form at Therfield School, Lucy was looking for a route that would provide her with real work experience and allow her to gain a qualification. On a daily basis, she supports staff and students, whilst spending Fridays working on her Apprenticeship qualifications. |
“In all my work I have to provide examples of projects I’m doing at work – everything I do at work I’m doing relates back to the Apprenticeship”
Could an Apprenticeship be for you? Find out everything you need to know here.
Over on our Instagram Stories, we ran through the range of industries you could get an Apprenticeship in with ESC! From Business to Brickwork, whatever your passion, you can fire it up with an Apprenticeship!
