Our Students Learn What It Really Takes To Be A Nurse

Date: 08 February 2024

On Wednesday, February 8th, 2024, our Level 3 Access to Nursing and Level 2 Health & Social Care students received a visit from Martha Mwangi, a Registered Nurse from Higher Healthcare Agency.

The purpose of the workshop was to open up the Nursing Industry and what it means to be a part of it to our students. They were able to learn and understand what is truly required of a nursing professional, including the level of expectation in knowledge, skills, and behavior, and to discuss the challenges and rewards they can expect from a career in Nursing.

Martha shared her Nursing journey from graduating at the University of Surrey all the way through to becoming an experienced working professional, and our students also learned about the wide variety of career pathways they too can follow.

One student commented, “It was really eye-opening and gave a realistic view of what you can actually expect if you become a nurse, which is really valuable.”
