Theatrical Make-Up students impress at the 2016 Professional Beauty event
East Surrey College Make-Up students wowed the industry professional judges at the recent 2016 Professional Beauty event at ExceL. Demonstrating their skills and creativity in the Warpaint competition, each entrant was judged on their precision of application and the innovation behind their design.
Congratulations to Lauren Owen (Redhill) who won a hat trick of awards: 1st place in the Runway/Editorial category (pictured top left), 2nd place in the Festival Editorial shoot (pictured bottom left), alongside the Rising Star Award. Lauren is currently in the second year of her HND Theatrical, Media and Special Effects Make-Up course at East Surrey College.
This is the fourth year in a row that an East Surrey College student has won first place in this category at this prestigious make-up industry event.
Nicolle Williams (Thornton Heath), currently studying Level 3 Theatrical, Special Effects and Media Make-Up was awarded 2nd place in the Runway category. Fiona McFarlane (Dorking) is studying Level 2 Media Make-Up and was awarded Highly Commended in the Real Beauty Category.
Faye Booth, who graduated from the HND course at the College last year, entered the competition as a pro; winning 2nd place in the Prosthetics TV and Film category – Apocalypse.
The combined results of the whole team ensured the highly competitive College Cup once again returned to East Surrey College.
Students can study from Level 1 Beauty Therapy through to HND Theatrical, Media & Special Effects Make-up at East Surrey College, with strong competition for places each year.
