Carpentry & Joinery Level 1 - Jacob
Former School(s): The Priory Dorking
After leaving school with excellent GCSE grades, Jacob joined ESC to pursue his interest in woodwork and joinery. He liked the feel of the College and thought the facilities were good.
He has particularly enjoyed the trips off-site as they give context to things he’s learning at College. These include a visit to a local housing estate to identify different periods/styles of homes.
“I’m really happy with the course, it offers a good balance of theory and independent, practical project work. There’s great access to equipment and knowledgeable staff to help you feel supported.”
Jacob intends to move on to Carpentry & Joinery Level 2, or get an apprenticeship. In the future, he sees himself working in a joinery workshop, producing bespoke furniture.
