Motor Vehicle Apprentice Level 3 - Alex

Alex had worked part-time at Epsom Car Care for 2 1/2 years before deciding that he wanted to get officially qualified, and chose to do an Apprenticeship, after completing his Level 1 at ESC.
He knew the college had a good reputation and, as a mature learner, Alex had saved to be here. He had been in the trade for 15 years, with previous work in his uncle’s showroom, and has always been involved in racing and car mechanics describing it as "a way of life.”
Alex works 3 days a week at Epsom Car Care, with his remaining weekdays at College - “I can combine the theory and practical, and balance time so I can dedicate weekends to my family.” He admits he occasionally struggles with the exams, but has received great support from his tutor and is able to see his progression and outline any gaps in his knowledge.
“I think you need to be in the industry, otherwise you’ll struggle.”
