Introduction to Vehicle Technology Entry Level - Reece

Reece is a keen kart racer, and chose to study a Motor Vehicle course to "learn about the technical side of racing" and support his passion.

He first went karting whilst on holiday in 2013, and fell in love with motor racing:

"I've always liked driving, and with karting I enjoy the speed and the challenge!"

Since then he went on to achieve 54 pole positions, 49 race wins and 100 podium finishes, including 3 in Canada. Last year, he joined Team Brit, a team set up to "inspire people with disabilities, PTSD and mental health issues, by demonstrating what can be achieved through motorsport."

In December 2019, he took part in a 6-hour endurance race at Buckmore Park, with other members of Team Brit. They formed a collaborative team called 'Racing With Autism" as all members of the team live with Autism. They finished 6th out of 35, despite completing an extra pit stop, and Reece set the fastest lap of the team, 49.741!

Reece is really enjoying his College course - "I love how we learn lots of different things" and finds that "the teaching is really good - there's lots of support available if you get stuck."

He plans on moving up through the levels in Motor Vehicle and hopefully getting to a professional level within kart racing!
