Motorsports Level 3 - Mohammed
Now on Motorsports Level 3, he chose to go into the Motor industry as he is "interested in cars and I want to go into the design side of car production."
Mo was also drawn to ESC as it was his local College and he could "see that it was the best for me" with the purpose-built spacious facilities. Mo particularly enjoys the workshop sessions, getting to grips with the different tools and doing practical work on cars.
To supplement his College course, Mo also works three days a week in a local mechanic's workshop, where he assists with servicing cars.
“I help with things like brakes, suspension and tyres. I really enjoy it and everything I’m learning at College helps to build my knowledge.”
Along with his coursemates, Mo is taking part in the Student Motorsport Challenge, which sees the Level 3 students turn a donor car into a racecar fit for the track. This is a great experience for the students to discover more about the Motorsports industry and learn the ins and outs of race car fitting, sponsorship, race logistics and more.
In September, Mo plans to continue onto Year 2 of his course and will start looking at universities, where he is interested in studying Manufacturing Engineering.
For the academic year 2021-22, Mo was elected as Student Union Vice President, a role in which he is excited to make a difference and support his peers.
“You can turn feedback into action and make our community stronger.”
