Travel and Tourism Aviation Pathway Level 3

Travel and Tourism Aviation Pathway Level 3 - Carson

Former School(s): Riddlesdown Collegiate

What led you to choosing this subject?

I’ve always enjoyed flying and already have my Private Pilot’s License (PPL).

I’ve also been inspired by the diaries of my Great Granddad who was a B29 bomber pilot for the American Airforce.

Why did you decide to study at ESC?

I got good GCSE grades and could have gone to 6th form but decided to study at ESC as they offered the course I wanted.

How have you found tutor support at College?

The tutors have all worked in Aviation Operations so they have a really good understanding of the industry and a lot to share about their experiences.

In the first year of the course, the teaching was impeccable and sent us on the right road early on.

Have you been on any trips or had any speakers come to your class?

We flew to Jersey with Easyjet where we went in the cockpit and got to see how a commercial flight operates.

Speakers from DHL and the Network Aviation Group visited our class – it’s always really useful to hear ‘real world’ advice about the industry.

What are your plans for the future?

Hopefully I’ll be joining Easyjet’s pilot scheme which trains you in commercial aviation and commits to a job after training.

In the long-term I’d like to go on to do long-haul flights.
