29 September 2025
On Thursday 26 September, our Higher Education students marked the completion of their studies at the annual HE Awards Ceremony held in the college’s Auditorium.
On arrival guests had time to catch up with peers and tutors with a welcome reception before the proceedings. Opening remarks came from Assistant Principal Nicola Parrott, who welcomed friends and families to the evening’s celebrations. This was followed by a keynote speech from Vice Principal Rebecca Taylor, who honoured the hard work and perseverance of all our graduates.

Graduates from Orbital South Colleges University Centre represented a diverse range of curriculum areas including Business and Finance, Education and Training, Construction, Engineering, and Makeup, Special Effects and Hair for Media and Performance. Following the speeches, each graduate was personally presented with a certificate by their tutor, before a photo opportunity alongside the Vice Principal as applause filled the room.

The evening was marked by some moving tributes, as Karen Fundell, lecturer in theatrical make-up, proudly recognised Victoria Hogg with the Academic Excellence Award. Allison Warner, lecturer in Early Years, also celebrated the achievements of Tayub Razzak, presenting him with the Resilience and Determination Award.
Nicola Parrott reflected on the joyous occasion, saying ‘It was a pleasure to host the HE Awards Evening, a wonderful celebration of our students’ dedication and achievement. It was heartening to see so much support from friends and family for our graduates, and we wish them every success in the next chapter of their future!’
Congratulations to all our HE graduates – take a moment to bask in your success, enjoy this moment, and know that we’re excited to see the great things you go on to achieve. Make sure to stay in touch through our new Alumni Network.
