East Surrey College and John Ruskin College Merger Confirmed
East Surrey College and John Ruskin College are delighted to confirm that their planned merger was finalised as scheduled on 1 February 2019.
The new group of Colleges, will be formed of East Surrey College, incorporating Reigate School of Art, and John Ruskin College under the group name of Orbital South Colleges.
The merger presents an exciting opportunity for the future, building on the strengths of the two Colleges, to create a high-quality, sustainable learning community, whilst retaining the identity of each organisation.
Both Colleges will continue to extend their close working relationships with employers in their local areas and beyond to collaborate in curriculum development and student employment, generating a wider range of career and training possibilities and greater access for employers to talented, well-trained potential employees. The merged College will offer a comprehensive range of core skills, technical and professional qualifications and courses, as well as Apprenticeships ranging from Entry Level up to Degree Level courses including Degree Apprenticeships.
Jayne Dickinson has been appointed Chief Executive of the Group, whilst also retaining the role of Principal at East Surrey College. We are delighted to announce that Kevin Standish has been appointed Principal of John Ruskin College and will also have responsibility for Quality across the Group.
