A journey through time at the RAF Museum London

A journey through time at the RAF Museum London

Date: 30 November 2023

A group of our Level 1 Public Services students, travelled up to London to spend the day at the RAF Museum London.

Students interacting with the Museum

Our students had a chance to discover the history of the RAF from its inception in 1918 to the present day. Exploring a variety of displays and aircraft, beginning with the 1911 Blériot XXVII right through to later Typhoon Fighter. Students were able to really visualise how technology and equipment has developed over the last 100+ years.

The trip was all part of introducing our students to the variety of Public Services available in the UK. With the RAF being one of the biggest, operating all over the world and employing over 30,000 people. Our students were able to consolidate their learning and understand some of the history that makes up today’s Public Services.

Some of our students’ favourite parts of the visit:

“It was great to understand the history of the RAF”

“Seeing the modern fighter jets were cool”,

“The World War 2 aircraft were very interesting”,

“The size of the bombs carried by different aircraft”.
