Raising Aspirations Week - Day 3

Raising Aspirations Week - Day 3

Date: 09 October 2019

We're over halfway through Raising Aspirations Week at College, and today we heard from guests in the Engineering, Construction, Motor Vehicle and Health & Social Care departments!

The day's first guest was Jonathan Sanders from British Airways, who gave a presentation on Apprenticeship and Work Experience opportunities at BA to students across various Engineering disciplines.

We then welcomed back Mark Montgomery, Trade Card Manager at Halfords, who chatted to Motor Vehicle and Painting & Decorating students. He displayed a variety of tools, and handed out Trade Cards, giving them a discount on equipment they'll need to practice their trade.

Plumbing and Construction students heard from Chris McNamara, founder of Pathway CTM, who explained how he can help mentor the students to find work placements and arrange site visits.

Our final visit for Day 3 was Sarah Barnes, a Senior Social Worker with Surrey County Council, who inspired Health & Social Care students by discussing alternative routes into a rewarding career in care.

Thank you to all our visitors! Pictured below is Sarah from Surrey County Council, and Jonathan with Engineering students.
