Business & IT - Jo-Ash
Former School(s): Carrington School (The Warwick School)
Jo-Ash initially joined us on Business Level 1 and progressed through IT Levels 2 and 3, to join our Internet Software Development FdSC. After leaving school, he initially chose ESC because of the opportunities offered by the College:
"...such as work experience, workshops on employability, going to trips and tutorials on IT safety, British Values, finding jobs related to my chosen career path etc"
Now on the FdSc course, he commented how his favourite elements are developing his existing skills and building new techniques in programming, database designing and Linux scripting.
As part of his Foundation Degree, Jo-Ash has also undertaken work experience with Ricoh Europe as part of the IT support team.
"Working in IT support has given me direction to my future career in Software and Technical Architecture as IT support is the fundamentals of IT itself."
Outside of College, Jo-Ash has been heavily involved in youth work with local charities. He represented two charities - London Youth and Reaching Higher - at the City Bridge Trust Chairman's Dinner in 2018 and was able to network with other charity representatives.
Jo-Ash is keen to continue towards Level 6 and complete a BSc in Computer Science, with an Apprenticeship in Software Development.
