Public Services Level 3

Public Services Level 3 - Freya

Former School(s): Carrington School (The Warwick School)

Freya is an extremely motivated student and is on track to achieve a DM grade for Year 1 of her Public Services course. She actively participates in student-led community based events such as helping a local outdoor centre and taking part in the 2019 Remembrance Day Parade at College and in the local town. She has overcome personal fears and anxieties to successfully take part in and complete several expeditions and an indoor climbing course.

"I have been to parliament, completed a rock-climbing course, participated in orienteering; Level 1 first aid training and participated on a 2 day camp. These were all good experiences and they have helped me find what career path I want to go into."

In recognition of her determination in and outside of College, Freya recently won Silver BTEC Public Services Learner of the Year at the National BTEC Awards 2020 and Bronze BTEC Public Services Learner of the Year at the 2021 Awards!

Freya is currently taking part in Britain’s Top Model competition, as part of this she has to raise money for charity. She has been proactive in planning her fundraising activities as well as training for this event. She has undertaken work as a model, and has been selected to take part in London Fashion Week, "something which is a real privilege and not everyone has the opportunity to do."  As part of her application for Top Model UK she has successfully raised £500 for the Top Model Foundation!

When looking to the future, Freya is passionate about a career in the Police Force, and has proactively approached visiting guest speakers and employers for advice and guidance.

"I chose to study this course because I believe it will help me to achieve my career goal of becoming a Police Officer. The course is well structured with a good balance and mix of units that interest me."
