Theatrical Make-Up HND - Amy

Amy’s journey at ESC started in 2015 when she started the Hair & Media Make-Up Level 2 course. Since then Amy has put in the hard work to recently complete her BA Hons (Top-Up) degree for Theatrical, Media and Special Effects Make-Up.

“It’s rewarding working with tutors who have worked in the industry. The teaching and support is one of the many reasons for why I stayed at ESC.”

Amy chose to study at ESC as the teaching and facilities were of a high standard and she wanted to join the community working environment. Amy chose to continue her studies with us because:

“Since joining the college I have become more independent and I recognise my development and growth.”

The practical elements of the HND course allowed Amy to experiment on prosthetics, talk to employers and develop her knowledge and skills.

“It’s inspiring to hear someone else’s story and it encourages you to reach that end goal.”

With the help from tutors and her own personal dedication, Amy has had the opportunity to be showcased in 5 magazines, worked on a Bollywood film set, worked for a Netflix drama and worked for clothing brands/ editorials and weddings.

“With a vast range of experience you learn the tips and tricks needed to fine tune your skills.”

Since graduating from ESC, Amy works with the University of Creative Arts (UCA) as a technical tutor and still aspires to one-day work in the film industry in USA.
