- Practical hand skills/safe use of power hand tools
- Site carpentry
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
Pens, pencils and course textbooks (Full list to be provided by the tutor).
To meet health and safety requirements within our realistic work environment, all students will be required to wear college uniform. Steel toe capped boots must be worn at all time when in the workshops.
5 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and Maths; or a Level 1 qualification plus English and Maths at the appropriate level.
Students who complete this course may further their studies on a Construction Level 2 Apprenticeship.
There is a continued assessment throughout the programme, allowing students to improve and develop continually. Assessment comes in a range of forms including reports, practical assessment and observation, online assessments and presentations.
Students aged 16 to 18, or those aged 16 to 24 who have a valid EHCP and are studying a full-time course, do not have to pay a course fee.
Students aged 19+ (without an EHCP) may have to pay tuition fees. Please contact Client Services for more information.
