Sport Level 3 - Michael

Former School: Millom School, Cumbria

Michael moved down to Redhill after finishing education in Cumbria. He was looking for further options to compliment his passion for Sport and "ESC appealed to me, due to the sport-specific courses they offered." 

Whilst on the two-year course, Michael particularly enjoyed "the exposure to various areas within the sports industry, which certainly interested and motivated me throughout my time at ESC." He was also grateful to the support from the tutors and "their expertise ensured I was able to excel in each unit." 

At College, he took part in enrichment activities, and took on the role of Activity Champion, which involved taking the lead in activity sessions and "enhanced my continuous professional development and passion for sports coaching." 

Michael is now in his final year of BSc (Hons) Sports Psychology and Coaching Sciences at Bournemouth University and credits his progress and achievements to "the conversations I had with staff members within the Sports Department [at ESC]."

"Staff at ESC were extremely influential throughout my University application process."

As part of his University course, Michael undertook a placement year, where he travelled to New Jersey, USA, and worked as a Head Coach for Global Premier Soccer. 

On completion of the degree course, Michael is hoping to pursue a career in the sports industry, particularly sports coaching,
