8 March 2026
On 8 March, International Women’s Day marked its 115th anniversary with this year’s theme ‘Give to Gain’. International Women’s Day highlights the incredible achievements of women across the globe while raising awareness for gender equality.
East Surrey College celebrated the occasion by shining a light on members of our college community: from our dedicated Math‘s and English Tutors to our innovative Finance and MIS departments, we are proud to have a diverse range of talented and hardworking women at the heart of our College group.

International Women’s Day was also a big hit in the Orbital Cafe, which is run by Foundation Learning students. The cafe helps students looking to gain crucial employability skills and work experience in customer service and hospitality. As part of their responsibilities, students not only bake and cook a variety of baked goods, they also serve them to customers in the cafe.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the all-female Executive team were invited to the Orbital Cafe: Lindsay Pamphilon, CEO and Principal; Eva Dixon, Chief Operating Officer; Kam Dehal, Executive Director of Commercial and Partnerships; and Rebecca Taylor, Vice Principal of Curriculum and Standards.
They were served a tasty spread of scones, cupcakes, sandwiches and more. It was an afternoon of laughter, relaxation and an opportunity to take a moment away from their desks to reflect on the year East Surrey College has had so far.

But the International Women’s Day festivities did not end there – earlier in the week, Beauty Therapy Lecturer and Advanced Learning Practitioner, Kelly Clark, won the highly prestigious Educator of the Year Award at the Professional Beauty Awards.
