Students in our Life Skills – SEND department have spent the last few weeks getting creative in the classroom, crafting Christmas tree ornaments, snowmen, Christmas biscuits and table decorations to sell at a local Christmas Market, organised by the Merstham Community Facility Trust (MCFT).

They’ve been regularly volunteering with MCFT, a charity offering a variety of services to the local community, including a Community Fridge, IT advice and travel support. Our students were excited to run a stall at their recent Christmas Charity Fair, selling the items they’d made, with all proceeds going to the charity. As well as being a fantastic way to get involved in the community, the students practised their communication skills running the stall, and mathematics as they raised money.
The students were excited to raise ÂŁ56, which was handed over to the Community Centre Manager at the end of the event. Well done to all involved.
