19 March 2025
From Monday 10 – Friday 14 March OSC celebrated Proud 2 B Me, a special week dedicated to celebrating diversity, inclusion and community across our Colleges.

The celebrations kicked off on Monday with a session on Christian faith led by Progress Coach, Franky Jordan. Franky opened about her own faith and provided an interactive session speaking about ‘the fruit of the spirit’. Later that afternoon an art workshop took place, a session that allowed students to express themselves with watercolour and acrylic paints on canvases.

The Lucy Rayner Foundation joined us on Wednesday for a presentation on how to recognise masking and camouflaging. The talk taught students how to identify these traits and how to better support people who may be struggling with their mental health; they also covered being true to yourself and practicing selfcare.

Fight Or Flight, a local Community Interest Company, visited the College on Thursday for a short talk on drink and drug addiction, followed by a wellbeing boxing and yoga session. The organisation hopes that by creating a comfortable space through exercise, we can start conversations and end the stigma around mental health.

Our Canteen also played a part in the celebrations, putting on an array of food from communities represented across our Colleges. Indian, Caribbean, African, Middle Eastern and Chinese food were on the menu for our students to enjoy across Orbital South Colleges.
Thank you to all those who helped to organise Proud 2 B Me Week, the wide range of events was an excellent showcase of the diverse and inclusive community that has been created at Orbital South Colleges.
