On Monday 8 September, the newly completed T-Level Health facilities officially opened their doors, ready to welcome a new cohort of students after a summer of extensive preparation and building work.
The new space has been meticulously planned to replicate a real-world medical environment that students may find themselves in as they begin their careers in the health and care sector. The upgraded space features four fully equipped medical bays, a healthcare flat, dedicated handwashing stations, and an adjacent classroom to support blended practical and theoretical learning.

The space has been completely transformed with the addition of a GP surgery, hospital beds, high-spec medical equipment, and realistic training manikins – providing students with an authentic and immersive healthcare training experience. While the hospital beds and manikins support practising primary care for patients, the mock GP surgery acts as an equally as important space to handle patients notes and check medical records discreetly.

Larrisa is one of three advanced clinical training manikins designed to support hands-on learning across a range of healthcare procedures, including blood pressure measurement, pulse checks, catheter insertion, and IV cannulation. The lifelike procedures that students will perform are varied and ensure students will be best prepared for a career in healthcare.
‘This is an incredibly exciting development for the College’ said Miranda Smith, T-Level Health Tutor. ‘Our new Nursing Suite and equipment will allow students across many subject areas to practise in a safe, realistic environment, building the skills and confidence they need to succeed. A massive thank you to Sim & Skills for their support and supplying us with the much-needed training equipment.’
The development reinforces the College’s commitment to an innovative learning environment, ensuring students have access to practical, career-focused experiences that will prepare students for a prosperous career.
