Construction HNC (Level 4 Apprentice) - Rochelle Maduro
Rochelle's "first taste of construction" was helping with a family home renovation in 2009 – “the industry gripped me from the start! I’ve always had a fascination with logic and physics.”
She then took time out to look after her daughter, and decided to retrain, enrolling on Construction Level 3 at East Surrey College in 2016. She wanted to find work alongside the course and started considering an Apprenticeship. Through the support of the College, Rochelle then secured a Level 4 Construction Management Apprenticeship with Osborne, where she is currently working within BIM (Business Information Management).
Rochelle is enjoying her Apprenticeship and commented:
“An Apprenticeship opens up work from a different angle. The role gives me a great mixture of office-based and site work, it’s brilliant!”
From problem-solving to helping out with software issues, Rochelle enjoys the variety and is able to apply her College learning to work projects. As part of her work, Rochelle gets to travel around and work on various sites, such as a bridge over the M25.
With her sights set on being an Architect, Rochelle described herself as “a creator. I’ve always been able to design and draw, and love seeing things develop and change.”
